Among the many symbols Wright displayed on the exterior of his Oak Park studio was his logo-a cross within a circle within a square. This distinct pattern is repeated on this impressive urn that stand outside of the Oak Park Studio.Located in a beautiful Oak Park neighborhood, the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio is a must see in Chicago. To his personal residence in Oak Park, Wright added a studio in 1898. The extraordinary Home and Studio complex served as Wright's architectural laboratory from 1889 to 1909, the years that launched his career. Here he conceived the Prairie style of architecture, testing ideas that found their fullest expression in many of the surrounding homes he designed for clients. The restoration of the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio in Oak Park, Illinois, was an intensive, meticulous effort that spanned 13 years and took $3 million to complete. Now open to the public as a historic house museum, the building has been restored to its 1909 appearance, the last year Wright lived and worked on the property. Wright used his home as an architectural laboratory, trying out design concepts before sharing them with clients. Here, he raised six children with his first wife, Catherine Tobin, and designed such famous buildings as the Robie House, Larkin Building and Unity Temple. With 25 Wright buildings in the neighborhood surrounding the Home and Studio, Oak Park is an outdoor museum of architectural history.Inside top 32.5 , Inside bottom 12 , Inside height 19.125.
