Caracalla ruled as Emperor from 198 to 217 AD and is remembered for his military prowess, ambitious building projects, and his enactment of the Constitutio Antoniniana, which granted Roman citizenship to all free inhabitants of the empire. The sculptural bust beautifully captures his stern expression, strong jawline, and the intricate details of his facial features, including his well-known "Caracalla hairstyle" characterized by short, curly locks.
