Capturing the face of a famous personage, beloved child,
or respected friend is one of the oldest artistic traditions. At Statue.com
we offer portrait bust services at a reasonable cost. Portraiture, being such a demanding art in any medium,
there may be only one in every 100 sculptors doing this type of three-dimensional
art. We are pleased to be able to continue this skilled tradition which
has seemed to fall by the wayside. The history of portraiture spans most of the history of
art. From east to west, ancient times to modern, portrait busts have been
designed in stylistically diverse forms. Consider the rigid portraits
of Egyptian rulers conveying not mere humanity, but eternal authority.
In turn, the idealized images of handsome Greek youths suggest classical
perfection, and the naturalistic, and often poignant Roman works preserve
forever the already weathered faces of real human individuals. Whatever the function, as objects of ritual, distinction
of social position, wealth, commemoration or remembrance, every good portrait
preserves the spark of a unique human spirit. Artists have long sought to create a representation of
humans that describes not only unique external appearances, but inner
psychological character as well. This is our goal at Statue.com. Working
with photos, our artist will sculpt the portrait in high-fire stoneware
clay, and upon final approval the bust will then be kiln-fired and finished.
Choose from a classic bronzed look, antique wash, or a customized finish
of your design. Please note that an additional cost may apply for a specialized
finish.
The cost for a 12" bust is $970 and a life-size
bust (approx. 18" to 22") is $1,970. This includes all material costs, labor,
and shipping and handling to you. Feel free to call us toll-free at (877) 675-2634 to
discuss your personal vision. We are pleased to work with you to achieve
the style of portrait that you desire. |
