From the fearsome grizzly bear to the cuddly Koala.
From the playful polar bear to the beautiful panda,
bears are revered around the globe. Just go to
any zoo and you are bound to see a crowd around
the bears.
Throughout history, the bear has made several
significant impacts on humans. In early times,
bears were a source of food to man, shelter and
clothing to man. In fact, tools and weapons were
even made from their bones and teeth. Over the
years, the bear has grown to be a part of our
everyday life. We have many fond memories of bears
as children. The Teddy Bear (thanks to Theodore
Roosevelt for being merciful to a small bear on
a hunt) is an American icon while bears like Winnie
the Pooh, The Bernstein Bears, and Yogi and Boo
Boo are enjoyed around the world.
So despite the fact that financiers and economists
use the bear to symbolize a poorly performing
financial market, the bear remains a creature
admired by man for its beauty, power, and agility.
Statue.com is proud to offer an extensive selection
