Homage To An Athlete - National Archaeological Museum, Athens. A 5th century B.C. relief dedicated to an athlete who is portrayed in the act of crowning himself with a metal cap. His head is bowed in silence out of respect for deity. The fragment of Attic origin was found near the Temple of Athena at Cape Sounion.
