The New York Giants are currently members of the East Division of the National Football Conference in the National Football League. The team plays its home games in East Rutherland, New Jersey at MetLife Stadium, which it shares with the New York Jets in a unique arrangement. As a result of their victory in Super Bowl XLVI, the Giants are the reigning champions of the NFL.
The Giants were one of the five teams that joined the NFL in 1925, but the only one admitted that year which still exists. To distinguish themselves from the professional baseball team of the same name, the football team was incorporated as the New York National League Football Company Inc. in 1929 and changed to New York Football Giants in 1937.
