Our Flying Mercury replica inspired by famed sculptor Giambologna, represents one of the twelve gods of Olympia and can be recognized by his winged feet, the Pegasus winged hat and the caduceus entwined with snakes. He is the messenger of the gods. The foot of the figure rests on a head of wind. Giambologna was born Jean Boulogne, was a Flemish sculptor based in Italy, celebrated for his marble and bronze statuary in the late Renaissance or Mannerist style. This reproduction of the Flying Mercury is cast of the lost wax process and is made of bronze and sits upon a black marble museum base.
